LITTLE PAULI DEBUTS WITH A WIN IN JIMMY
SUNSHINE STAKE
Fans got
their first look at some of this seasons two-year-colt pacing crop here in the
Prairie State on Sunday as the Bruce Pacitti trained
Little Pauli knocked off nine other youngsters by 2 ¾ lengths in the $5,000 Jimmy
Sunshine Stake.
Coming off
a sharp runner-up performance in which he flew home in 27.1 the son of Park
Place-Vocalist was sent right to the top by driver Art Gregory Jr. in his
pari-mutuel debut.
Pacing
along comfortably while putting up splits of 30.3, 1:01.3 & 1:31.2 the bay
colt then sealed the deal with a wicked 26.3 final quarter to stop the clock in
1:58.0. Eggroll (Marcus Miller) overcame a miscue leaving the gate to rally for
the place money while Winchesters Hero (Michael Rogers) was a distant third.
This
seasons two-year-old filly pacers will be in action on Wednesday, June 9th
at Balmoral Park as a field of six young ladies slug it out in the $5,000
Egyptian Grande Stake.
